When choosing activewear post mastectomy, the most important thing is to choose items that are comfortable. Unlike choosing a normal fashion top, the difference with choosing an activewear top is that it is probably the time where you will choose not to wear your prosthesis as they can be heavy and sweaty.
Lots of activewear is tight and that’s where I found it the most tricky. When choosing activewear, I opt for a tight fitting crop top underneath a looser fitting tank over my normal tights or run shorts. The crop underneath gives me the confidence that my scars or their outline won’t be seen and allows for more choice in what tank I choose.
Here is my sister and I at the Mother’s Day Classic fun run last year. While I look flat, I don’t think I stand out as having had a mastectomy.
